Who would ever guess that a white wall could be so much fun?!  Well… maybe it was more the hot pink feather boa, sequin cowboy hats, and Elton John glasses.  But still who knew that just our regular everyday clothes could cause such a commotion!  Ha ha yeah right, I can just see Scottie walking into the Bass Pro Shop wearing a zebra striped cowboy hat and a giant, gold, dollar sign necklace!  So they may not be appropriate for a fishing trip, but apparently they ARE appropriate at a Radiant wedding!  OK, so I’ll get to the point already….

Radiant Photography has a new feature for our wedding packages and that is… the (still unnamed) Radiant Photobooth!  I don’t really have to say much more to describe it, because this video speaks for itself!

(If this video doesn’t work for you, click here to see photos)

So now that you get the idea, maybe you can help us come up with a name!  We want something that sounds crazy and funny, with fabulous style!  We also think we want to keep “Photobooth” in the title just for marketing purchases.  Or at least “booth” (even though it’s not actually a booth, it’s an open space so everyone can have fun egging on the people posing…constant entertainment for everyone)!  Here were some of our ideas… don’t worry these were preliminary thoughts, we are not really as lame as some of these may lead you to believe….

1. Photobooth flair (think Office Space)

2. The Furious Photo booth (sounds angry)

3. The Ghetto Fab Photo booth (dorky white people might think they can’t use it)

4. The Radiant Parlor (sounds like it’s for creepy old guys)

5. The Fantabulous Photo booth (I don’t know if you can make up words and still be considered professionals)

6.  The wtf Photo booth (um… way too offensive- but still very funny!)

7. The Love studio (much too open for misinterpretation)

8. The omg Photobooth (sounds like a 50 year old trying way too hard to be cool)

9. Strut Studio (there’s a reason Disco Stu wasn’t a main character on the Simpsons)

10. The Glam booth (this one actually hasn’t been totally ruled out yet)

Who knows… at this rate “Radiant Photobooth” doesn’t sound like a bad way to go!

If you are interested in using the Radiant Photobooth for your wedding, check out our current pricing page.  If you would like to have the Radiant Photobooth as entertainment at your special event, send us an email and we’ll give you a custom quote.

Lately we feel like we’ve been disconnected from our blog as people.  What I mean is it’s been really businessy lately… and that’s so not us!  So here’s the part of our blog that is really US in our truest form!

So here’s a little bit about us personally (probably more than you ever wanted to know):

When people think Breanna here are a few things that probably come to mind… lots of hair, mentos, singing, extremely passionate, artistic, writing, tons of talking, hanging out with little kids in our apt. complex, over-exaggerations, glitter/sparkly stuff, over-dressing, philosophizing,  over-opinionated (but working on it), honest to a fault, music, music, music, emotional about strange things, coffee, Anthropologie wannabe (too cheap for the real thing), always seeking aesthetic beauty, super organized, thinker, debating, learning…. and hopefully lots of other good stuff!

This is Breanna on her “Princess Porch” as everyone calls it due to the massive amounts of white lights covering the ceiling, the sheer drapes (covering more white lights of course), and the tons of shiny looking things randomly placed all over the rest of it.

When people think Scottie here are a few things that probably come to mind… super crazy tall, red meat, intelligence, the mullet on his soul, reading, handy man abilities, the funny youtube videos he passes around, The Dallas Cowboys, his ablity to learn about and be interested in EVERYTHING around him, camping, Bill Nye the Science Guy (only in brains, not in looks), love for animals, ultimate trivia champion (he’s even pondered being a contestant on Jeopardy!), car mechanic, helpfulness, NASCAR,  movie and music buff, Landcruisers, documentaries… and so many other things because that’s the thing about Scottie, he’s a man of many many talents and an extreme variety of interests.

The rest of our office (minus the other wall that is a closet with mirror doors covered in a beautiful aqua & brown tree decal (with birds) from Dali Decals.  We wanted it to be a creative environment to help inspire us artistically.  It works!

And just a little summary of us…

We met through our mutual friends and we connected as a result of Breanna’s unreliable car and Scottie’s mad mechanical skills (it was worth the trouble to have a nice ’66 Mustang though)! When we met, Breanna was working at Starbucks and Scottie was a pool table mechanic… photography was just a sparkle in our eye at that time. So things happened… life transitioned… rings were exchanged somewhere in there… and pictures were taken… now here we are!

Right now Radiant does consume a good portion of our lives but when it’s not, we spend time working for an organization called Apartment Life that allows us to plan community activities in our complex in exchange for free rent. So we plan a party here, fix a kid’s bike there, and spend a lot of time turning up the grills and hanging out with our neighbors. It’s awesome (but it’s way better when it’s not 120 degrees outside like it is right now)! We don’t have any kids of our own yet, but sometimes it feels like we have 30 because of all the time we spend with the ones who live around us (except since they’re not actually ours, we can just tell them to leave when we get tired of cleaning up the mud chunks they leave on our couch).

So hopefully now you all see that we are in fact real people with normal lives… not just some ambiguous company that exists somewhere out there in the space time continuum that is the internet.  We’re also more than just business, more than just pictures, more than just attempts at clever comments, we are…. well this whole blog is about who we are!

Thanks for reading and if you haven’t already, fan and friend us facebook,  send us an email or something… now that you know a little more about us, we’d love to get to know you too!

Becka @Studio222 Photography: I LOVED this! It's fun getting to peek into who you guys are!

The best part of our job is definitely the amount of time we get to spend with amazing people.  And it is so fun when those people like us so much that they tell their friends about us!  That’s how we got connected with the Marcus family here (thanks Tracy!), and it was really fun to meet friends of a friend and get to spend the day hanging out with them!

We met up with mom and dad and the three girls at the community park in Anthem, AZ.  Once they got comfortable with the camera, the 3 girls did a great job smiling and posing for us… with little interjections of playing together between poses (which is great because it’s my job to catch those moments in between Scottie taking the posed shots, so I loved it).  Click here to see the full family photo session which showcases a lot more of the silliness of the day.

The girls did a great job interacting together.  They were skipping, playing ring around the rosie, tickling, and doing gymnastics.  SO fun!  I wish I was a little girl again!

001

Can you believe those eyes?!  They’re all so beautiful!  I love sister pictures… such great memories (like I would know, I didn’t even have sisters… but shots like these make me wish I did!).

After awhile of doing a great job following our directions, the girls started to get tired (understandably so) and they were eying the playground longingly.  So of course we jumped at the opportunity to get some shots of them having some REAL fun!  It was a good chance for us to get creative with our environment as well, since the playground isn’t our normal backdrop… though I’m sure it will be when we have kids of our own one day, so I guess in some ways you could call these practice shots. ;-) Click to see some of the playground shots  (and all the rest from this Arizona family portrait session).

006

Actually Scottie followed around the two younger girls while I took the older one over to get some more “model” type shots since we could tell she wasn’t really digging the playground.  She totally surprised me with her modeling ability by the way, I didn’t have to really pose her at all, she just changed her positioning on her own every once in awhile and did it perfectly! Her beauty combined with posing abilities made my job more than easy! Click to see some of her portrait photos (and all the rest from this session).

So we want to say a big thank you to the Marcus family for letting us be the ones to capture your family during this season of your lives.  We consider it a privilege. :-)
